How a visit works, step by step

Once the price and a time are agreed, each regular visit follows the same steps.

  1. Skim and empty the baskets

Leaves come off the surface, and the skimmer and pump baskets are emptied so water flows freely.

  2. Brush the walls, steps and waterline

Brushing loosens the film that builds up in corners and along the waterline.

  3. Vacuum where needed

Anything that has settled on the floor is vacuumed out, so it isn’t left to cloud the water.

  4. Test and balance the water

We test with a Spin Touch photometer and balance the water from the results.

  5. Check the filter and leave a note

We check the filter and circulation are running, then leave a note of what was done and anything we noticed.

What we test and what the results mean

Every visit includes a water test. We test with a Spin Touch photometer, which reads several values from one small sample: pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, stabiliser and total hardness, plus salt for salt-chlorinated pools.

In plain terms, chlorine keeps the water clean, pH and alkalinity keep it balanced so the chlorine works, and stabiliser helps the chlorine last under the Perth sun. The hardness reading is total hardness, not calcium hardness.

The note we leave tells you what was done. Read more about water testing.

Between visits: what you can do

A few minutes of housekeeping between monthly visits helps the water stay clear.

  • Skim leaves off the surface when you notice them.
  • Empty the skimmer basket if it’s filling up.
  • Keep the filter running as normal.
  • Keep garden waste, sand and toys out of the water where you can.
  • Tell us if the water turns cloudy or the flow looks weak.

Please leave the chemicals to us. If something doesn’t look right, call us and we’ll talk it through. More on looking after your pool between visits.

Common questions

How much does pool cleaning cost in Perth?

Our services start from $99 per visit incl. GST, plus chemicals. See pool cleaning prices for every price and what affects the cost.

How often do you visit?

Our regular service is one visit a month. Pools with heavy use or lots of leaves may need extra attention in between, and you can book that as a one-off clean, from $139 incl. GST, plus chemicals.

Are chemicals included?

No. Chemicals are charged on top of the service price, as quoted. We test the water first, and your quote lists what your pool needs and what each item costs.

What’s included in a visit?

Each regular visit covers skimming, emptying the skimmer and pump baskets, brushing the walls, steps and waterline, vacuuming where needed, a water test and balance, and a filter and circulation check. We leave a note of what was done.

Do you cover my suburb?

We cover Perth north of the river, roughly 20 km from the city. Type your suburb into the quote form below, or see our service areas.

Can a green pool be cleared in one visit?

Not always. It depends on how green the water is, the condition of the pool and how well the filtration is working. We check these before recommending treatment and return visits.

Do you do repairs?

No. Our servicing doesn’t include repairs. If we spot a fault, we’ll explain what needs attention; electrical, gas and other specialist work go to the right qualified trade.

What hours do you work?
